What TranscribeVideo.ai does

TranscribeVideo.ai is a free AI video transcription tool. You paste a video URL from TikTok, YouTube, or Instagram Reels — and get the full text transcript back in seconds.

You can paste multiple URLs at once. Each video gets its own transcript, and the tool generates one combined AI summary across all of them — useful when you're analysing a series, doing research, or trying to understand a topic that's been covered across several videos.

It's free for up to two videos with no signup. Pro unlocks up to ten videos per request and unlimited total usage.

Why we built it

The problem with existing transcription tools is that they were built for audio files and meetings — not for social video. Getting a TikTok transcript used to mean downloading the video, finding a separate audio extractor, uploading the audio to a transcription service, waiting several minutes, and hoping the result was usable.

Content creators, marketers, and researchers were doing this manually — or not doing it at all, because the friction was too high. That meant hours of video content that should have been searchable, reusable, and analysable was effectively locked inside the video format.

How we build

How transcription works

When you paste a video URL, we extract the audio from the video and pass it through an AI speech recognition model. For YouTube videos and Shorts, we prioritise existing captions when available — these are typically more accurate than audio-only transcription because they were created for or by the creator themselves.

For TikTok and Instagram, we use audio extraction followed by AI transcription. Accuracy is typically 90–95% for clear speech in English. Background music, heavy accents, or fast speech can reduce accuracy, but most results are usable immediately with minor edits.

Combined AI summaries are generated by passing all transcripts through a summarisation model that synthesises key ideas, identifies common themes, and surfaces the most important points across all videos in the batch.

Who uses TranscribeVideo.ai
